Peacefully at Marianhill Residence with her family at her side on Monday April 23, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Joanne Whelan (nee Davidson) of Pembroke beloved wife of Terry Whelan. Loved and cherished mother of Marleen Daly (Randy), Pembroke and Michael Whelan of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Brendan Daly. Dear sister of Elaine Cox (late George), Carol Collins (Lou) and Joan Millard (Terry) and sister-in-law of Eileen Dobell (late Bill), Brian Whelan (late Doris) and John Whelan. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Joanne was a Graduate Nurse of St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto. After many different nursing positions she settled into her favourite as a Neo Natal Nurse at the North Bay General Hospital. Here she was able to care for many precious newborns until her retirement in 1995. Jaonne was also a long time member of the North Bay Choral Society and enjoyed singing alto in their numerous productions. She was also a member of the CWL at Corpus Christi and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches. In 2011, Joanne moved to Pembroke to be closer to family and her one and only GRANDSON!! Friends are invited to share their memories of Joanne with her family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME , 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Saturday June 2 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 2, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdesview Drive Pembroke. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery. In memory of Joanne, donations to Marianhill Residence would be appreciated. Condolences, tributes, donations www.murphyfuneralhome.ca
