Condolences

Condolence From: Connie O'Connor
Condolence: Dear Alysia, Angela, Antaire & family, & Sheena
Father Tim Parent's announcement at St. Luke's last Sunday felt like a lightning bolt to Uncle Melvin and I, when we heard this awful news. I very much intended to attend visitation and offer my sincere sympathies in person, so I am deeply saddened that I just found the service details this morning. I have kept all of you in my prayers for God's strength and comfort to remain with you as you support each other in the difficult transition ahead. John will be very much missed for his contributions in our world. God bless you.

Condolence: Dear Alysia,
I’m still in shock after hearing the news of John’s tragic passing. It’s hard to put into words the profound sense of loss you feel when you have known someone so long, and done so much together. John & I met in 1980 when I was at Fellowes HS, and he was at Champlain. I switched schools in Gr. 11 largely due to our friendship, and love of motorcycles. John & I moved to Ottawa in 1982, got jobs at the same security firm together, and shared an apt. When I moved back home, he followed a year later, joined the City of Pembroke, and met you. I remember attending your wedding, and spending lots of time at your home. John always loved Honda (until I bought my first HD) and then he was converted! Lise & I recalled that when we moved back to Pembroke in 1995 after years away, the 1st person on on doorstep to help move in.....was John. I trusted and respected him. We will not forget him. So glad you have lots of love and support right now. You are in our prayers.

Condolence: Alysia and family,

My sincere condolences for the loss of John. He will be sadly missed by all, of that I have no doubt.

John was a mentor to many, a teacher, a confidant, a guiding light, and there for anyone that needed him. John was the first to step forward when he was needed. Whether that be at work with the Operations Department, or to a friend in need.

John prided himself on being there for everyone. He was there for his fellow worker, management, the ratepayers, the community, the City as a whole. The tremendous devotion to his job, his willingness to always give of himself, his concern for others will always be felt. And it is something we will all cherish.

In the 15+ years I've had the great privilege of knowing John, I can say that he always had a smile on his face. He was always there to offer encouragement, even in the toughest times. John helped me through some tough decisions, always imparted his wisdom and experience, and was there to share anything he could for the better of all.

John was a good friend, and always a capable and helpful colleague. He will be sorely missed. Not just by the Operations Department who have lost a true asset to the City, but to all that got the chance to know John. We will miss him always.

Go rest now John, your job is done.

Condolence: Alysia, I don't know where to begin! My heart is at a loss of words. I have known John since 1985, hanging out with Roger and the gang. Later on, John and I were members of the OPP Auxiliary and can remember fun times at training nights with him. In recent years, hanging out at the Rathier's garage were always fun times! My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and John's many friends. May God Bless you and comfort you during these difficult days!
